Gearing Up For Small Business Saturday

Hi there,

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, which is the last Saturday in November, is a national holiday called Small Business Saturday. Trademarked by American Express, Small Business Saturday is the counterpart to Black Friday, a holiday dedicated getting great deals at big box retailers.

Small Business Saturday puts the spotlight on local small businesses. This movement came about in the midst of the 2010 recession to bring more exposure and holiday shopping to small businesses. Every year, many customers seek out products and services from small businesses in an effort to support their local communities.

This year, Small Business Saturday falls on November 27, 2021. Because of the pandemic, many small business are still struggling to keep their doors open. To make businesses more visible to the general public, American Express is urging owners to register and add their small business to the Shop Small map, so they can be easily found. Here's how to register (it's free!).

If you own a small business, consider offering specials or discounts that day to catch your audience's attention. Whether you've participated in Small Business Saturday before or not, it has the potential to be one of your biggest sales events of the year. Best of luck!

Thank you,
